Gift List for Nurses
Gifts that I love
📚 For the Nurse in Your Life Who Loves to Read…
Whether you’re treating yourself or looking for the perfect gift for the nurse in your life, here are a few of my absolute favourite reads.
Apologies in advance for the photos. These are my very own, slightly coffee-stained, dog-eared copies. At least you know I’ve actually read them!
I’m now dipping my toes into the Amazon Associates world, which means I have to follow the rules, so no fancy Amazon images just yet. Poor pictures it is for now, but the recommendations are solid!

Strange but True
Incredible Patient Stories
Obviously this should be at the top of everyone's Christmas gift list! An excellent stocking filler to entertain all nurses. No stuffy A&P quizzes just pure fun and trivia for the nurse enthusiast
If you ever wanted to peek inside the wonderfully strange world of the human brain, this book is your ticket. Neurologist Oliver Sacks tells real-life stories of patients whose minds behave in the most extraordinary ways. From a man who literally mistakes his wife’s head for a hat to a woman who can no longer sense her own body, each case feels part detective story and part poetry
The Diving Bell and The Butterfly is a truly inspiring book, without giving too many spoilers it does make you think about the patient journey and experience, which at the end of the day is what its all about. It is something I would recommended all student nurses read.
For the Aspiring Nurse Practitioner
A Great gift book
Bates Guide to physical examination was essential during my training, I still refer back to it now. It was probably my most used book.
I would advise getting the full sized book - personal preference but there are a lot of images that were really helpful in understand tricky concepts.
